How to use
Set your location
Tap "Use my location", or type your city and the finder looks it up for you.
Turn on the live compass
On a phone, tap "Turn on live compass". The needle will track the Kaaba as you rotate the device — nothing to align by hand.
Face the needle
Slowly turn until the needle points straight up. When it does, you're facing the Kaaba — the screen will confirm it.
What is the Qibla?
Qibla is the fixed direction Muslims face for prayer — towards the Kaaba in Mecca. Wherever you are in the world, your prayer is offered facing that sacred house, which is why the direction is different for every city on earth.
The scholars teach that the qibla follows the shortest route across the globe, not the direction you would draw on a flat map. That is what makes this finder accurate: it uses the great-circle path from your coordinates to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E) and returns the true bearing in degrees.
Knowing your qibla is one small part of turning the heart towards Allah. The practice of muhasaba — the nightly self-accounting — is another, and it pairs naturally with a prayer life rooted in the right direction.
